Street Views of Lexington and Nicholasville

Google Maps Street Views turned 1 today, and as part of the birthday party, Google added LOADS of new cities, including Lexington and Nicholasville, KY. Without actually sending to my old house, I can let you know that my dad’s house, my parent’s old house, my old house, my old work place, basically everywhere in Lexington that you might see from the road. Wow! So awesome. We’re now mapped both on Live Maps via a “Bird’s Eye View” and in Google Maps via Street Views. It’s amazing how much coverage there is now:

You can see that there are several areas where there are corridors between cities. However not all streets have actually been mapped. Disappointingly, while the cities that my uncle, aunt, and grandmother live in have all been “street viewed” but not the roads their houses are on. I have often wondered how useful this data is, but clearly it’s pretty important or they wouldn’t be growing at such a clip. There have also been rumors of street views in Europe but as of now it’s all inside Europe.

A few near landmarks around Lexington:

Horse and Barrel, Starbucks, Triangle Park, and my old office:

I think that’s all my city has to offer. Any more suggestions for cool things found around Lexington or Nicholasville, link in the comments!
